Two strokes for peace…
Confronted with current events, Baron Papillon cannot just look at the images we see on our screens without reacting. What can we do on our level? We don’t want to leave this question unanswered. And so we reply to the aggressions of this world by the force of colors: two blue and yellow strokes.
50 euros donated
For each pair of sneakers sold – custom-made with the colors of Ukraine – 50 euros will be donated to À Travers l'Europe (“Throughout Europe”), a Franco-Ukranian association.
Thanks to cash donations, " À Travers l’Europe" purchases and sends new medical material, food, clothing and protections for civilians.
This commitment was reported by France 5 in a news item, which can be found on the association’s website.
AN ORIGINAL MODEL
Go forward
Created on the request of several of our loyal clients who are aware that our shoes are made for peace, this little Baron draped in blue and yellow has the same attributes as its brothers and sisters. The inner lining of perforated leather coming from an Italian tannery offers so much warmth and comfort that you’ll forget you’re not walking barefoot on the beach!
Blue and yellow
At Baron Papillon, we believe in the power of solidarity. We hope that – by chance or by friendship – on the sidewalks of Paris, London or Kiev, two customized pairs of blue and yellow shoes (the colors of the Ukranian flag) will meet and send each other a discreet, affirmed and positive message.
Thank you
Our choice is À Travers l’Europe, present in a suburban community just outside of Paris. It’s a relay to aggressed Ukranian populations and it does what it can to help them. The support that we offer them is also yours. Thank you.
CREATED WHILE PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SLIGHTEST DETAILS
The butterfly
The silhouette of this insect ("Papillon" in French) – which embodies freedom and movement – is at the heart of the brand. Its crown originates from the heraldry of the Renaissance barons.
This discreet logo embossed with two "Pal Vergette" strokes were added using the hot engraving technique.
Personalization
Personalization, hand-made in our Granville workshop.
With a single stroke of an indelible felt pen, each model is unique as it is handmade.
With our eyes on current events, the blue and yellow strokes of this new Low signs the power of solidarity.
CAREFULLY SELECTED MATERIALS
Well made
The material is the basis of the craft work: without beautiful material, no beautiful product. That’s why we don’t neglect anything: the quality of the leathers used is a fair compromise between flexibility and rigidity.
Just like the inner lining, the upper lining is made of calf leather from Italy. It will have a long life ahead of it with a beautiful patina.
ECO-FRIENDLY & FRENCH
A balanced production
Sensitive to environmental issues, we have always wanted sneakers to be elegant and astute, but also in line with slow fashion.
We adhere to the principle of « zero destruction » of our unsold stock and we continue developing creative processes for researching European based materials that respect the environment while associating ourselves in collaborative eco projects.
Made in France
Upstream, we work on the elaboration of the first prototypes in Montjean-sur-Loire:
- Final drawing and choice of materials by our artistic director Eric Gallais
- First prototype in the design office
- Once this one is validated, we move on to the stitching stage, i.e. the production of the rods
Then it is the assembly of the soles with the stem:
- Hot glued with a machine specially designed for our Barons
- Cold sewn with the sewing machine of our grandmothers
Finally the final preparation :
- Inserting the laces
- Placement of the herbal sole
- Recovery of the upcycled boxes to put our sneakers in
By manufacturing in France, we shorten our production time, we reduce our carbon footprint, we contribute to strengthen our local expertise. And we are proud of our know-how.
Managed Upcycling
And we continue. Our vintage shoe boxes are made from an old stock that was fabricated in France in the 80’s to which added our logo.
Cleaning instruction
It is easy to clean: soap and a damp cloth (no solvents)
